Neurowave Diagnostics is seeking a flexible and experienced On-Demand Ambulatory EEG Technician to conduct ambulatory EEG testing at designated medical facilities or testing centers. The technician will be responsible for setting up ambulatory EEG equipment, ensuring proper electrode placement, and instructing patients on how to wear and manage the equipment during the monitoring period. The technician will also ensure data is collected accurately and prepared for neurologist review. This role requires excellent attention to detail, technical knowledge of EEG procedures, and strong patient communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
-Set up ambulatory EEG equipment at designated testing location.
-Properly apply electrodes to the patient’s scalp using standardized protocols to ensure high-quality and accurate EEG recordings.
-Program and configure ambulatory EEG devices to monitor brain activity.
-Provide thorough instructions to patients on how to manage the device, log relevant activities, and handle any potential issues during the monitoring period.
-Ensure patients understand the importance of logging any activities or symptoms during the test period to correlate with the EEG data.
-Collect and upload EEG data at the conclusion of the monitoring period, ensuring all information is properly documented and transmitted to Neurowave Diagnostics’ neurodiagnostic team for analysis.
-Ensure all EEG equipment is cleaned, calibrated, and maintained according to company and industry standards.
-Maintain clear, professional communication with patients and healthcare providers at designated locations to ensure seamless testing procedures.
Qualifications
-Associate Degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology, Health Science, or a related field, or completion of an accredited EEG technician training program.
-Certification as a Registered EEG Technician (R. EEG T.) or eligibility to obtain certification within one year of hire.Experience in ambulatory EEG setup and monitoring preferred.
-Strong knowledge of EEG equipment and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear patient instructions and reassurance during procedures.High attention to detail and ability to follow standardized protocols for accurate data collection.
-Ability to work independently in various clinical settings.Current CPR/BLS certification.
Working Conditions
The EEG Technician will work on location at designated testing sites, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, or specialized testing centers. The role may require occasional travel to various testing locations and flexible work hours.
